... is the world-wide leading company of electric stoves.
They developed a system where a device can be operated using solely one rotary switch, which through the use of magnets can be placed on different positions and thus switch between different settings.

With the Ego twist I saw the opportunity to tidy up the overly crowded Interface of amplifiers, without sacrificing the unique haptic sensitivity; whilst giving it the most possible minimalistic and mindful aesthetics. Haptic, mindfulness and minimalism were the key terms for the design of my amplifier: "Haptenic"

Even though we only had to make a non-functional visual model I was determined to make the model functionable by taking apart an old amplifier and using its electronic parts.
The external materials are satin-finished grey Plexiglas and sandblasted Aluminium.
I used these materials for their satisfying haptics and to give the Haptenic a calm appearance.

The wedged shape results as a counter-pole to the recurring box shape and the classic one-s idedoperation and positioning of the controls. This shape and the self-arranging Interface enable the Haptenic to be installed in multiple positions: lying, standing, on its side or even mounted on a wall.

The Interface convinces through its precise design and works as followed:
The Haptenic is turned on with a pressure button on the surface. When the Ego Twist is removed from the surface all the possible settings appear through the Plexiglas.
When putting the Ego twist on the desired setting, it is held in position by magnets and the rest of the settings will disappear. The result is that the user is able to concentrate on the essential control, leaving him to enjoy the world of music.x
